The game
ZeRO is a free Ragnarok Online fan server in the classic spirit: pre-renewal, with no Renewal formulas — the old maps, jobs and experience of the episodes before Renewal. The story takes place in the Rune-Midgard kingdom: Prontera, Izlude, Payon, Morroc, Geffen and Alberta, their fields and dungeons.
Our client is our own: the game is rebuilt on the Godot engine, while maps, sprites and sounds come from the official RO client. Mechanics — combat, experience, drops, skills, job quests — follow the rAthena emulator. The world grows step by step: see the news and the release notes for what's new.
Who we are
The server is made by a small team of RO fans in their spare time: no investors and no publisher. We write the server, the client and the site ourselves and ship updates often — sometimes several versions a day.
Rules and values
- Fair play. Bots, auto-clickers, client hacks and bug abuse are forbidden. Found a bug — report it instead of using it.
- No pay-to-win. Money can't buy levels, gear or an edge in combat. If paid items ever appear, they will be cosmetic only.
- Respect. No insults, harassment, spam or ads for other servers — in the game, in chat or on the forum.
- Your accounts are yours. Don't sell or share accounts: we can't return a stolen or bought one.
- Staff decisions for rule breaking: a warning, a chat mute or a ban. Disputes go to the forum, calmly and to the point.
