1. Account and game
- Sign up on the site and confirm your email with the link from the letter: you can't create a character without it.
- Download the game for Windows or Linux, unpack the archive and run it. The game downloads updates by itself every time it starts.
- Log in with the same login and password as on the site (or with Google, if you signed up that way).
2. Character
In the lobby, create a character: name, gender, hairstyle, hair color and starting stats. The lobby also has the "Gifts" window (login rewards) and the "Code" button: enter reward codes from giveaways and news there.
3. Novice island
A new character wakes up in the hold of the novice ship, walks out onto the island and enters the Criatura Academy. It teaches controls, combat, the inventory and the Kafra — finish the academy, then head to Prontera.
Kafra stands in every town: save your respawn point with her, keep items in storage and teleport between towns.
4. First monsters
The fields around Prontera are for the first levels: 
Poring, 
Lunatic, 
Drops and other weak
monsters. "Where to level" picks a spot for your level, and the world map
shows where a monster lives.
Every job level gives a skill point — put them all into Basic Skill. Level 2 unlocks emotions, level 3 lets you sit (Insert) to restore HP and SP faster.
5. First job
At job level 10 with Basic Skill 9, choose your path. The exam is taken at the job's guild:
- Swordman — Izlude;
- Mage — Geffen;
- Archer — Payon;
- Acolyte — Prontera church;
- Merchant — Alberta;
- Thief — the pyramid near Morroc.

Any key can be rebound: "Settings" → "Controls".
7. Chat commands
/w Name text— whisper;/r text— reply to whoever wrote to you last./ex Name— block whispers from a player,/in Name— allow them again./friend Name— invite to friends./!,/?,/ho,/diceand more — emotions (the full list is in the emotions window, Alt+L).
