ZeRO is now running version 0.433. This article covers releases 0.426–0.433: the auction and Merchant shops, daily quests on the Prontera notice board, new monster and MVP skills with original RO effects, and fixes based on your reports.

Auction in Prontera

An Auctioneer now stands by the southern Kafra in Prontera. The auction is shared by the whole server.

  • Search: choose a type, a subtype and a name (for example, "Equipment" → "Footgear" → "Novice Slippers"). You can sort lots by price per piece. You can buy only part of a stack: just enter how many you need.
  • Any character can consign an item to the Auctioneer, not just Merchants. An item is listed for 7 days, and you can have up to 5 lots at once. The listing fee is 1 % of the price (at least 100 zeny), and the Auctioneer keeps 15 % of each sale. Collect your earnings from her; after a week they are mailed to you. Unsold items wait with the Auctioneer for another 7 days, then they are mailed to you too.
  • Merchant shop: if you have Vending, go to any of the five Kafras in Prontera and open a shop with items from your cart. Once it is open, your character leaves the game and the items are sold on the auction. Earnings minus 5 % go straight to your account. Each account can have one shop. It closes when you log in with any character on the account, or after 14 days; unsold items return to the cart.
  • "My lots" shows your consigned items and your shop with their deadlines, plus a log of recent sales. You get a chat message for every sale, or a summary when you log in if you were offline.

The shop tax and the Auctioneer's commission go to the world bank, a shared server fund "for development". It will later be used to buy items for the server.

Daily quests

The notice board by Prontera's south gate now has "Citizens' requests" and "Wanted" sections. Each quest can be turned in once a day, and quests reset at 00:00 server time.

  • "Sticky Mucus for the alchemist" (level 15+): bring 50 Sticky Mucus. Reward: 1000 Base EXP, 667 Job EXP and 3000 zeny.
  • "Wanted: Eclipse" (level 15+): kill Eclipse in the fields northeast of Prontera. The kill counts for everyone who hit it. When Eclipse appears, hunters get a chat message. Reward: 667 Base EXP, 467 Job EXP and 2000 zeny.

Daily quests appear in the quest journal with your progress and a route to the hunting field and to the board.

Monster and MVP skills

Monsters and bosses have learned many skills from the original RO. Instead of a skill name above the monster, you now see original RO effects and hear RO sounds.

  • Magic: Amon Ra casts Meteor Storm, Baphomet casts Lord of Vermilion and Earthquake, Marin casts Frost Diver, and Osiris casts Stone Curse. Frost Diver can freeze your character: a frozen character cannot walk or attack, and a hit breaks the ice.
  • Buffs and tricks: Golden Thief Bug uses Reflect Shield and Assumptio, Baphomet uses Brandish Spear and Snap, Moonlight Flower uses Dispell, and Ghostring and Dracula turn invisible. Goblin Steamrider can self-destruct and hits everyone nearby. Angeling can give your character an orc head for 20 minutes.
  • Traps and fire on the ground: Orc Archer's Ankle Snare holds you in place, Choco's Skid Trap knocks you back, Flasher blinds and Freezing Trap freezes. Fire Pillar, Venom Dust, Fire Wall and Safety Wall have been added too. Traps use the original RO 3D models and are visible from afar.

Fixed based on your reports

  • Monsters flinch when hit (report #17). As in the original RO, a monster stops for a split second after a hit. The time depends on the monster: 0.48 s for Poring. It can still attack during that time. Frequent hits cannot keep a monster in place forever.
  • Bigger damage numbers (report #17). As in RO, a damage number pops up large and shrinks to its normal size over 1.5 seconds. If the numbers still look small, "Settings → Game" now has a "Damage numbers" option: ×1 (as in RO), ×1.5, ×2 or ×3.
  • macOS: "the app is damaged" (report #9). The archive is not damaged: this is how macOS warns about programs that Apple has not notarized. The download page now explains step by step how to clear this warning with Terminal.

Knowledge base

On the "Monsters" tab of the knowledge base, you can sort the table by any column: name, level, HP, element, race, size, experience or locations. Click the header again to reverse the order. The link keeps your sorting.

The client updates itself on launch. Thanks to everyone who reports bugs and suggests ideas — post on the forum or use "Report a bug"!
